Thaw (3) Sun 20 Apr Weather started overcast, then came out sunny with a force 4 Easterly. OSC brought reinforcements this time, a strategy that paid off well with both first and second places. A good competitive race with 7 boats in surprisingly pleasant conditions.

2nd Chris Gill & Troy Batley in Bingheau (Wayfarer)
3rd Chris Best & Mike TB in Eskimo (Laser Stratos)
Cruise to Butley Creek Sat 19 Apr Return Sunday. Contact Paul Eaton for details.
Sunday Lunch Sun 4 May Start 13:30 - £5 for pork casserole & rice or veg stew & couscous, fruit crumble & custard. Menu might be changed if summer has come! Sign up in the Clubhouse or phone Liz Wright.
Series 1(2) Wed 16 Apr Sailed under a clear blue sky, but with a chill easterly breeze, the start saw two boats over the line as they contested for the best starting position. One was disqualified, the other did a restart and eventually won the race
1st Mike Rowe in Skywalker (Laser)
2nd Chris Best & Mike T.B.in Eskimo (Laser Stratos)
3rd Leslie Downing in Tempest (Solo)
Cruiser owners overnight parking   If you leave your car overnight in the carpark by the clubhouse whilst you sail away in your cruiser, you must display an SCDC permit. These are obtainable from Suzanne on 01394 444023. All members who have previously had a permit should have received one for this year and need not re-apply.
Thaw (2) Sun 13 Apr Enjoyable race in sunshine and the odd shower, force 3-4 SW. Warm welcome to Chris and Caroline Gill from Orford Sailing Club. A good tussle was had with positions changing a number of times, Eskimo coming out on top by a narrow margin.
1st Chris Best & Mike TB in Eskimo (Laser Stratos)
2nd Chris & Caroline Gill in Bingheau (Wayfarer)
3rd Leslie Downing in Tempest (Solo)
Series 1(1) Wed 9 Apr The start of another season, but a little early for most sailors - although the evening was bright and calm only three boats were on the line:
1st Leslie Downing in Tempest (Solo)
2nd Mike Rowe in Skywalker (Laser)
retd Dave Abbot in his new Laser 2000
Leslie wins the Skelcher Trophy.

Management Committee Minutes 27 Mar The draft minutes of the comittee meeting of 27 March are available to read in the members' area.
Fitting Out Supper Sat 5 Apr The Clubhouse was bursting at the seams last Saturday as 50 members sat down to a superb three course meal cooked by Liz Wright, our Social Secretary. The evening was brought to a delightful end by Cathy Taylor and Mike TB singing to us with Pris Forrest tuning in her fiddle and squeeze box to give a foot-tapping rendition of Suffolk folk tunes. An excellent time was had by all! See photo of the month...

Dinghy Park plan 7 Mar Thanks to Barry Cullen for this dinghy park plan, so you can see where your boat is going to live this year. It's a bit indistinct in places as it's been patched together from several photos, but readable if you look carefully.
2008 stickers are in the clubhouse, please don't forget to display one on your boat.
Photo Gallery   At last! The task of assembling all last season's photos in web format has been accomplished and the Photo Gallery is up-to-date. Have a look to remind yourself of the good times last year - it didn't rain every day!
